Your Role at Delta Faucet As a co-op at Delta Faucet, you'll receive hands‑on experience in product development within a fast‑paced engineering environment. You'll gain exposure to Delta Faucet products, design tools, testing methods and cross‑functional development processes. Working alongside experienced engineers, you will contribute to concept creation, detailed design, product evaluations and reliability testing. As skills grow, you will take on increasing ownership of development activities throughout the product lifecycle. This is a three co-op rotation. The first two rotations will be in Indianapolis, Indiana. The co-op participants may have the opportunity to spend a semester at one of our US manufacturing facilities. Final decision will be made based upon facility need and co-op student development goals.

Requirements

  • Pursuing a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering Technology, or a related technical field.
  • The ideal candidate is a current freshman or sophomore with a minimum 3.0 GPA.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • A detail-oriented and proactive mindset, eager to learn and take on challenges

Responsibilities

  • Develop understanding of Delta Faucet products and development processes.
  • Assist design, specification, and implementation of product development projects.
  • Support product development engineers in detailed product design, assembly, and testing.
  • Assist product engineers with production part approval, implementation of product changes, and evaluation of non-conforming products.
  • Complete training and use of CREO solid modeling tools in support of faucet component and assembly design and modifications.
  • Participate in brainstorming meetings and idea creation events to conceptualize products to meet customer and market needs.
  • Complete training and use of engineering test equipment in support of product evaluations per internal and external product specifications, requirements, and plumbing codes.
  • Participate as member of cross-functional product development teams.
  • Analyze product reliability through coordination of environmental, performance, and accelerated life cycle testing.
  • As student gains more knowledge and experience, assume responsibility for product development activities from concept creation to design verification, tooling phase, model validation testing, and product launch.
