The NISC IV program at Leidos is looking for a Mechanical Engineer in Anchorage, AK. This position will support coordination of plant and facility design, planning, and construction for Flight Service Stations and other projects such as facility building refurbishment and construction.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering OR other relevant field of study and at least 4+ years of relevant experience OR Master’s degree with 2 years of relevant experience. An additional years of relevant experience may be considered/accepted in lieu of degree.
  • Project Management skills/background.
  • Experience with HVAC and chiller systems.
  • Ability to obtain a Public Trust Security Clearance Suitability (To be eligible for Public Trust Security Clearance, one must be either a U.S. Citizen OR a U.S. Permanent Resident/Green Card holder who has resided in the U.S.A for the past 3 years of the past 5 years consecutively with no breaks).
  • One must be able to work onsite in Anchorage, AK.
  • Travel estimates up to 25%.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous work experience for/with the FAA is preferred.
  • PMP (Project Management Professional).
  • Arctic Engineering.

Responsibilities

  • Position will be responsible for planning, designing, and overseeing the construction of new or expanded facilities across the State of Alaska.
  • Prepares or coordinates engineering designs and documents, cost estimates, functional studies, construction plans, specifications, and schedules.
  • Coordinates with outside contractors and all stakeholders.
  • Recommends engineering design procedures and standards for the planning and design of facilities.
  • Coordinates the detailed design, budgetary cost development and tracking, construction, compliance, and final inspection of facility projects.
  • Conducts planning and review meetings with stakeholders through all phases of a project.
  • Provides engineering consulting services to local and divisional offices.
