About The Position

Astrodyne TDI is looking for an experienced Mechanical Engineer. This individual should be hands-on and enjoy rolling up their sleeves and working with a multidisciplinary team on maintaining and supporting legacy production manufacturing and development of new innovative products. Our Mechanical Engineers ensure our products meet every mechanical detail of a specification based on their ability to understand and design to a customer specification. Our Mechanical Engineers manage the entire design process including design reviews, 3D models, 2D mechanical drawings, documentation, and production support of new product builds. We are looking for someone who has experience with CREO software as well as 2D drawing software similar to AutoCAD, including the ability to generate fully defined mechanical drawings, while considering manufacturability and cost. Experience working with sheet metal designs is highly desired. Astrodyne TDI takes pride in mentoring, training and developing new talent.

Requirements

  • A minimum of a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering
  • 2+ years of experience in mechanical engineering.
  • The candidate should be proficient with CAD software packages (ProE/Creo preferred, 2D CAD software experience a +)
  • Experience in material selection and manufacturing processes.

  • The candidate will also have good communication skills, clearly communicates ideas, concepts and solutions in addition to taking initiative and understanding process flow.

Responsibilities

  • Mechanical lead on design of magnetic products such as Transformers and Inductors
  • Follow good design/manufacturing practices and company quality guidelines on all designs
  • Generate high quality and complete engineering drawings following industry standards
  • Update existing legacy product documentation via Engineering Change Notice (ECN) process
  • Support other mechanical engineers and staff when necessary
  • Provide project updates during weekly meetings to department and program managers
  • Release and update design documentation via document control systems
  • Coordinate with all relevant internal departments for on-time project completion
