About The Position

The Plant / Mechanical Engineer is responsible for evaluating mechanical equipment, plant utilities, and maintenance practices to improve reliability, safety, and operational effectiveness. This role focuses on equipment performance, mechanical integrity, and maintenance-driven loss reduction within a manufacturing environment. The key objectives for this role are to improve reliability and uptime of mechanical systems and equipment, assess maintenance practices and equipment condition, identify mechanical contributors to chronic operational losses, and support safe and reliable plant operations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
  • Proven experience in mechanical equipment evaluation within manufacturing plants
  • Strong knowledge of plant utilities, compressed air systems, and pneumatic conveyance
  • Experience with reliability engineering and maintenance best practices
  • Hands-on plant engineering experience required

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate mechanical equipment performance, condition, and reliability
  • Assess plant utility systems including compressed air, pneumatic systems, and process air handling
  • Identify equipment-related constraints, failures, and loss drivers
  • Review equipment utilization and support mechanical optimization initiatives
  • Evaluate preventive and predictive maintenance practices
  • Identify gaps in maintenance procedures that impact reliability or safety
  • Support root cause analysis related to mechanical failures and downtime
  • Develop recommendations to improve equipment reliability and maintainability
  • Conduct field walkdowns of manufacturing lines and mechanical assets
  • Verify mechanical equipment, piping, valves, and utilities against drawings
  • Identify discrepancies between field conditions and documentation
  • Support redlining and correction of mechanical and utility documentation
  • Collaborate with operations, process, and controls engineers to resolve mechanical constraints
  • Support equipment and system qualification or verification activities
  • Contribute to site action plans aimed at eliminating reliability-driven losses
