About The Position

The Mechanical Engineer supports the design and development of mechanical components and assemblies for avionics and electronic systems. This role focuses on creating enclosures, chassis, and mounting hardware, as well as supporting electronics packaging and system integration. Working closely with electrical, systems, and manufacturing teams, the Mechanical Engineer contributes to both new product development and sustaining engineering. Responsibilities include developing CAD models and drawings, supporting analysis and testing, and assisting production teams with troubleshooting and design improvements. This role requires strong mechanical design fundamentals, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a collaborative engineering environment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
  • 3-7 years of mechanical design experience, ideally in aerospace, defence, electronics, or other high-reliability products.
  • Proficiency with CAD and PDM tools such as Autodesk Inventor, Vault, SolidWorks, or similar, including drawing creation and release.
  • Experience in electronics packaging, design for manufacture and assembly, GD&T, tolerance stack analysis, and designing for environmental requirements.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience supporting products through prototype, verification, qualification, and production release.
  • Experience working with suppliers and production teams to resolve design, manufacturing, and build issues.
  • Strong ownership, sound engineering judgement, and the ability to work effectively across multidisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

  • Design mechanical components including enclosures, chassis, brackets, and mounting hardware.
  • Develop 3D CAD models and mechanical drawings.
  • Support packaging of electronic assemblies and printed circuit boards.
  • Design mounting solutions for connectors, circuit boards, and thermal components.
  • Support thermal and structural analysis of mechanical designs.
  • Assist with environmental testing including vibration and temperature testing.
  • Support production teams with mechanical troubleshooting and design improvements.
  • Maintain mechanical drawings, BOMs, and engineering documentation.
