Crusoe is seeking a talented and driven Mechanical Engineer with 2-5 years of experience to join our dynamic data center construction team. This role will be instrumental in ensuring the successful implementation and operation of our mechanical systems within our cutting-edge data centers. You will work closely with project managers, contractors, and other engineers to oversee the design, development, installation, testing, and commissioning of piping, HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection systems.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  • 3-5 years of experience in mechanical systems design and construction, preferably in data centers or similar industrial environments.
  • Strong understanding of HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection systems.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting construction drawings and specifications.
  • Experience with testing and commissioning procedures.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
  • Knowledge of building codes and industry standards.
  • Familiarity with CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit) is a plus.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with data center specific mechanical systems.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license, or Engineer in Training (EIT)
  • Experience with modular construction.

Responsibilities

  • Develop analytical models for water and energy consumption
  • Develop equipment layouts and flow diagrams for central utility plants
  • Prepare equipment bid packages, specs, and review submittals
  • Review and select mechanical equipment
  • Review and interpret mechanical design drawings and specifications.
  • Coordinate with architects, electrical engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless integration of mechanical systems.
  • Provide technical input and recommendations for design modifications as needed.
  • Monitor the installation of piping, HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection systems to ensure compliance with design specifications and industry standards.
  • Conduct site visits to track progress, identify potential issues, and resolve conflicts.
  • Ensure adherence to safety regulations and quality control procedures.
  • Analyze test data and identify areas for optimization.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical system issues during commissioning.
  • Assist in the management of vendor relationships.
  • Review submitted shop drawings.
  • Answer RFI’s.
