As our Mechanical Engineer, you will play a crucial role in designing, updating, and modifying large high-speed bottle and can filling equipment. Your primary focus will be on capital equipment design and support, as well as standardization and documentation. You will report to the Engineering Manager under our DF&H Division. On a given day, you may: Manage BOM & drawing changes through a standard revision/Engineering Change Order (ECO) process in a PDM controlled system Design and develop parts and assemblies using SolidWorks. Create models, assembly drawings, & manufacturing/fabrication drawings. Gather detailed information on vendor supplied components and create vendor control drawings. Prepare any additional mechanical support needed for projects such as welding/machining fixtures, layout drawings, field installation procedures, and any other pertinent documentation. Convert legacy drawings from AutoCAD or .tif to SolidWorks. Develop subject matter expertise on assigned product line. Check and review drawings and documents for accuracy and errors. Ensure designs and drawings are functional and manufacturable. Capture meeting minutes and other notes from customer interaction to document needs of customer and changes during project. Work with little direction and supports the project team in the successful completion of multiple projects. Actively participate in RCI to drive improvements for Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost, in support of company goals/objectives and to exceed customers' expectations. Properly track costs, including personal time and spend, to keep budgets and notify proper resources of expanded costs. Document sources and history of design development throughout the project. Assist in FAT (Factory Acceptance Testing) preparation and execution. Assist in VAVE (Value Assessment, Value Engineering) events and support as needed. Assist in the shop and installation support work as needed. Either in the office or on site. Expect to interact directly with customers to define scope of work and to understand their needs and wants. Provide technical direction and information to customers and coworkers. Generate text for proposals, specifications, narratives, and other documentation.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or mechanical engineering tech.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience, preferably in beverage/packaging equipment design.
  • Experience using SolidWorks for 3D modeling.
  • Experience using PDM or other drawing vault.
  • Integrity to support ethical engineering decisions.
  • Must collaborate with fellow engineering professionals, customers and coworkers
  • You must be authorized to work in the US without sponsorship now or in the future.

Nice To Haves

  • AutoCAD, FEA and CFD experience preferred
