About The Position

We are seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join our team supporting the Naval Nuclear Laboratory (NNL) at their Knolls Atomic Power Laboratory! This position is full-time and will be based out of Schenectady, NY with hybrid flexibility (up to 20%).

Requirements

• Education & Years of Experience – Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering and 10+ years of relevant experience.
• Citizenship – To be considered, you must be a United States (U.S.) citizen due to the federal nature of the work.
• Clearance – To be considered, you must be able to obtain and maintain a DOE "L" Clearance.
• Must have experience performing mechanical engineering tasks including the development of contract documents, calculations and cost estimates.
• Must have working knowledge of building codes and standards.
• Must have experience in construction administration (submittal review, RFl's, construction inspections, etc.).

Nice To Haves

• EIT certificate and or P.E. License.
• Engineering consulting experience.
• Working knowledge of ASME codes.
• Working knowledge of HVAC systems.

Responsibilities

• Work within a project team environment to support construction projects.
• Develop and define project scope with sponsors.
• Develop specifications and cost estimates.
• Create drawing reviews and provide engineering support during construction phase for buildings and utility projects.
• Oversee architectural engineering firms in developing concept designs, construction documents, and cost estimates.
• Coordinate and interact with facility staff and contractors.
