LiRo-Hill has an immediate need for a Mechanical Engineer in Newton, MA. Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • 3-7 years of relevant HVAC design experience.
  • Working knowledge of relevant codes and standards (e.g., ICC, NFPA, ASHRAE).
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, and load calculation software.
  • EIT certification; PE license preferred or in progress.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Ability to work independently with general instructions / guidance from senior engineers to produce the expected results
  • Experience with sustainable design and LEED-certified projects.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to multitask to meet specific project deadlines.
  • Ideal candidate would have project management experience.

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop HVAC systems for commercial, industrial, municipal and healthcare facilities.
  • Conduct site visits, inspections, field surveys to support design and construction phases.
  • Preparation of construction documents, including drawings, specifications, riser diagrams and load calculations.
  • Ensure designs comply with applicable codes and standards.
  • Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams including architectural, electrical, plumbing, structural and other team members.
  • Review of submittals and RFIs during construction administration
  • Serve as Project Engineer and Project Manager on smaller, less complex projects
  • Use engineering and design computer software to complete assigned work (i.e. Autodesk Revit MEP & AutoCAD)
