The Role: Xylem seeks to hire a Mechanical Engineer to perform research, design, and development in such areas as mechanical, thermal, hydraulic, thermodynamic, or heat transfer for production, transmission, measurement, and use of energy. Define planning and methodologies to the planning, design, development, and testing of mechanical and/or electromechanical systems, instruments, controls, engines, and/or machines.

Requirements

  • BS in Mechanical Engineering with strong fluids background
  • CAD background
  • Proficient in PTC CREO
  • Proficient in MS Office Applications
  • Proficient in AutoCAD

Nice To Haves

  • ASME code knowledge (Section VIII, Section III, Section V, and Section IX)
  • Ability to work in a team
  • Project Management Experience

Responsibilities

  • Designing heat exchangers to meet customer requirements, at time including ASME code and other governing body specifications
  • Performs ASME calculation for Heat Exchanger design
  • Support manufacturing by resolving engineering related issues
  • Work with drafting to develop drawings & bills of materials
  • Test Lab work including thermal testing of Heat exchangers, pressure testing, etc.
  • Participate in improvement activities
  • Participation in Xylem Watermark volunteer activities
  • Participation in Cost Savings Projects
