About The Position

Element has an opportunity for an Entry-Level Nuclear Testing Engineer supports the analysis, testing, and evaluation of mechanical systems with emphasis on fluid dynamics and thermal performance in safety-related applications. The engineer assists in ensuring that nuclear systems, structures, and components meet safety and regulatory requirements by performing thermal-hydraulic analyses, conducting mechanical testing, and supporting engineering evaluations under the direction of senior staff.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Nuclear Engineering, or related field.
  • Strong foundation in thermodynamics, heat transfer, and fluid mechanics.
  • Familiarity with engineering testing methods, instrumentation, and data analysis.
  • Knowledge of finite element or computational fluid dynamics (CFD) tools (courseworkor internship experience acceptable).
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, safety-focused team environment.
  • Eligibility to obtain and maintain required security clearances, if applicable.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in thermal and fluid systems testing to evaluate performance, reliability, andsafety margins of nuclear components and systems.
  • Conduct basic thermal-hydraulic calculations and simulations to support safety analyses.
  • Support mechanical testing of safety-related systems, including stress, fatigue, andpressure testing of components.
  • Collect, analyze, and document test data to support safety basis evaluations and designverification.
  • Assist in reviewing engineering design changes for thermal and fluid system impacts onsafety.
  • Collaborate with senior engineers on hazard analyses, accident scenarios, and systemresponse modeling.
