If this describes you, come join our team as our next Propulsion Engineer! As responsible propulsion hardware engineer, you would be responsible for the selection, procurement, manufacture and test of propulsion system components and assemblies. This job requires coordinating with the other members of the propulsion group, customers, suppliers, test facilities, and other related disciplines such as manufacturing, thermal, structural and electrical engineering as well as Systems and Quality. Your tasks will include: Assisting on the conceptual development, requirements definition, and design of propulsion components Developing product performance specifications, statements of work, and supplier data deliverables for components Providing requirements flow-down and verification, and maintaining technical baseline at the suppliers Maintaining engineering drawings, specifications, and technical analyses to support systems and components Performing Solid modeling as needed Performing trade studies to select the appropriate design or test solution Supporting component test definition, monitoring, data reduction, and performance analysis Supporting hardware discrepancy resolution and failure analysis, incl coordination with quality, management, subject matter experts and customers Certifying your component(s) for delivery and integration into the subsystem Supporting Subsystem manufacturing and test activities Providing clear technical status/recommendation to peers and customers, presenting analysis data to engineering teams, customer technical representatives, and Program Office personnel at technical interchange meetings and design reviews. Requirements

  • Strong understanding of propulsion subsystems
  • Experience with interfacing with subcontractors
  • Experience with cross functional teams
  • Desire and ability to own technical challenges through solution

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with mechanical CAD modeling in CREO or equivalent
  • Knowledge of hardware procurement/development process
  • Currently possess a TS/SCI
  • Propulsion component development and system integration experience
  • Knowledge of GD&T.
  • Hands on Hardware experience
  • Knowledge of pressure vessels
  • User of CREO CAD software
  • Additive manufacturing experience
  • Familiar with design for Manufacturability (DFM)
  • Flight Hardware Design experience
  • Experience with supply chain management and subcontracts
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with adjacent fields (systems engineering, electronics, stress/thermal analysis, configuration management, production, test, quality…)
  • Willingness to mentor junior engineers.
  • Solid understanding of mechanical and propulsion engineering principals

Responsibilities
