About The Position

HireNow Staffing is partnering with an established, growth-focused manufacturer in Omaha, Nebraska, to hire a seasoned Mechanical Engineer for a highly visible role within its Product Development organization. This position is designed for an engineer who enjoys owning work from concept through production—combining hands-on design, analysis, validation, and structured risk assessment. The Mechanical Engineer will contribute directly to the development of new and customized mechanical products, working closely with cross-functional stakeholders across engineering, manufacturing, and commercial teams. Candidates must meet the required qualifications to be considered for interview.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering (required)
  • 3–7 years of progressive mechanical engineering experience in product development or design engineering
  • Strong background in design verification, validation, and structured risk analysis
  • Hands-on experience with simulation tools, including finite element analysis (FEA)
  • Proficiency with 3D CAD modeling and mechanical drafting platforms
  • Familiarity with disciplined development methodologies such as APQP and FMEA
  • Ability to interpret complex mechanical requirements, specifications, and design constraints
  • Strong communication skills and proven ability to collaborate across teams

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in automotive, aerospace, agriculture, or medical device manufacturing environments
  • Exposure to products requiring high reliability, compliance, or durability testing
  • Electrical or electronics familiarity in support of integrated mechanical systems
  • Experience supporting commissioning, field inspections, or customer-facing engineering applications

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop mechanical products and customized solutions from early concept through launch
  • Create detailed engineering models, drawings, prototypes, and test plans for customer-specific applications
  • Process Engineering Change Orders (ECOs) to revise and optimize existing product designs
  • Support new product introductions and ensure smooth transition from R&D into scalable production platforms
  • Perform mechanical simulations and engineering analysis prior to manufacturing or testing
  • Conduct stress, fatigue, durability, and life-cycle evaluations on critical mechanical systems
  • Select appropriate materials and manufacturing methods to meet functional and cost requirements
  • Participate directly in prototype builds, assembly, testing, and troubleshooting
  • Execute structured verification and validation processes to ensure compliance with specifications
  • Identify development risks early and apply methodologies to mitigate issues throughout the project lifecycle
  • Support corrective action investigations and implement permanent engineering solutions
  • Conduct on-site inspections and contribute to commissioning or installation support as required
