Requirements

  • BS in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline
  • 4+ years of relevant industry experience designing moving mechanisms
  • Proficient with computer aided design and analysis tools (SolidWorks preferred)
  • Excellent reporting and presentation skills

Nice To Haves

  • M.S. in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline
  • 6+ years of relevant industry experience
  • Experience working in aerospace
  • Experience with electronics packaging and wire harnessing
  • Experience with LabVIEW and Matlab

Responsibilities

  • Develop spacecraft motion control and actuation systems
  • Mechanical systems design including bearings, gears, motors, and rotating mechanisms
  • High reliability mechanical design and analysis for aerospace applications
  • Generate design documentation and vendor specifications
  • Support assembly and test including environmental testing, shock, vibration and thermal
  • Review test data and recommend changes to products and/or processes
  • Proactively identify roadblocks to technical progress and take steps to mitigate/avoid
