About The Position

The primary responsibility of this position is to document existing products/designs, modify existing products, and design new products as a part of a cross functional technical team.  The position requires the ability to organize and detail part drawings, create assembly drawings and compile bills of material which reflect the manufacturing process.  Under supervision of Senior Engineers perform a variety of engineering work.  This work will include the Design, Detail, Development and Construction of engineering projects and perform other duties as assigned including continuous improvement, technical guidance on a day-to-day basis and supporting manufacturing.A Day In The LifeEvery day at Hubbell is different and you’ll contribute in many ways. On any given day, you’ll make a difference by: Develop, optimize, and validate manufacturing processes for production equipment, tools, and systems Create and maintain process documentation, work instructions, and assembly instructions Act as the bridge between manufacturing, R&D, quality, service, and sales Provides technical guidance on everything in production from processing HV tanks, to providing technical support on lugging, soldering, schematic reviews, and work instructions Facilitates all communication between production and engineering to make sure products are assembled and tested correctly Preferred 5+ years reading schematics and working with handheld tools and test instruments.  Travels to customers on short notice (20%) to provide field service, technical assistance, troubleshooting, preventative maintenance, and calibrations

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering (required)
  • Proficiency in Autodesk Inventor or other 3D modeling software
  • Proficiency in MS Office
  • Strong analytical skills with excellent problem solving abilities
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to effectively interact and maintain effective relationships with other employees
  • Ability to work independently
  • Excellent time management, organization, communication, and prioritization capability
  • Ability to understand and practice standard safety procedures
  • Ability to interact comfortably with all levels of internal and external customers
  • The ability to work at heights and lift 15 lbs

Nice To Haves

  • Preferred 5+ years reading schematics and working with handheld tools and test instruments.
  • Preferred 5+ years experience working in a manufacturing environment
