Lockheed Martin Aeronautics in Fort Worth, Texas, is seeking a Summer 2026 Mechanical Engineer Intern. In this role, you will support existing project teams by documenting engineering design solutions (e.g. DODAF views), analyze the design of hardware solutions designed for multi-domain coordination and data-sharing, and implementing physical engineering solutions in operational environments, and gathering and analyze post-event data for presentations to leadership. The successful candidate will have experience and/or knowledge of the MATLAB programming platform, familiarity with web-based content updates and information-sharing strategies, and basic knowledge of engineering problem solving using computer-based methodologies. Must be a US Citizen. This position is located at a facility that requires special access.

Requirements

  • Pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline from an accredited university
  • Willingness to work on-site in a lab environment
  • Analytical thinking, engineering knowledge, and problem-solving skills
  • Coursework in engineering problem solving using computer-based methodologies
  • Strong verbal and written communication and the ability to work autonomously when provided work instructions
  • Must be a US Citizen
  • This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration.

Nice To Haves

  • Proven leadership skills and the ability to work in a collaborative team
  • Familiarity with web-based content updates and information-sharing strategies
  • Strong verbal and written communication and the ability to work autonomously when provided work instructions
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite (i.e., Microsoft Teams, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook)
