About The Position

We are seeking serious and dedicated students who demonstrate strong academic commitment to contribute to exciting projects at our headquarter site in Milpitas, California. You will contribute directly to the development of the world-class semiconductor inspection and/or metrology tools, working on real, industry-driven projects – not just R&D or academic experiments. The position belongs to the Platform Team who is responsible for delivering the main chamber of KLA’s most advanced inspection system. As an intern, you will:

Requirements

  • At least 2-3 years completed in four year degree program
  • Ability to work onsite five days a week at our Milpitas, CA headquarters

Nice To Haves

  • Pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mech/Elec/Sys Engineering or other related fields
  • Completed fundamental coursework in mechanical design and possess basic skills in CAD software.
  • Familiarity with PTC Creo and Ansys (Mechanical or Fluent) is a strong plus
  • Exposure to vacuum systems, cleanroom protocols, or semiconductor equipment is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Generate 3D CAD models of mechanical parts and assemblies
  • Create and maintain engineering documentation
  • Perform basic analytical modeling to support design decisions
  • Collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams, such as Elec Eng, Optomech, Systems, Physics, Mechatronics and SW teams
  • Procure components and materials for prototyping
  • Assemble and test your designs in a laboratory setting.
