About The Position

The Mechanical Engineer II designs and releases mechanical components and assemblies from concept through production. This role balances performance, cost, and buildability to keep projects moving. You iterate with intention and work across teams to turn sound design into practical, manufacturable products built to perform. Applying mechanical expertise alongside FEA and DFMA principles, you deliver production-ready solutions and support design automation efforts that improve how we engineer. At this time, we are not able to provide employment sponsorship for this role.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
  • 2+ years of mechanical design experience with components/assemblies from concept through production.
  • Proficiency in SolidWorks or comparable CAD software for part modeling, assemblies, and drawing release.
  • Experience supporting hands-on prototype builds, testing, and design validation activities.
  • Experience creating accurate, user-focused technical documentation.
  • Experience applying Finite Element Analysis (FEA) to inform design decisions.
  • Working knowledge of Design for Manufacturing and Assembly (DFMA) principles.
  • Familiarity with mechanical systems involving rotating components.
  • Ability to communicate directly with vendors to support design and sourcing decisions.
  • Ability to learn and apply C# programming to support design automation initiatives.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of HVAC systems, air handling equipment, or related mechanical products.
  • Ability to interpret airflow, pressure, and power performance data.
  • Experience designing sheet metal components and assemblies.
  • Experience developing or modifying design automation tools using C#.
  • Familiarity with Jira, Confluence, or similar project management and documentation tools.

Responsibilities

  • Design and release mechanical components and assemblies in SolidWorks.
  • Ensure solutions meet performance, quality, cost, and manufacturability requirements.
  • Prepare complete manufacturing drawings and fabrication packages for sheet metal and welded assemblies.
  • Apply structured testing and FEA to validate structural and dynamic performance prior to production release.
  • Analyze lab and field data to evaluate airflow, pressure, power, and vibration behavior using Excel and C#.
  • Correlate test results to design changes and drive data-informed product improvements.
  • Partner with Engineering, Production, Marketing, and other teams to align design intent with operational requirements and maintain project momentum.
  • Contribute to the development of project plans for multi-disciplinary engineering initiatives, including budgeting, vendor quote gathering, timeline development, and ROI analysis.
  • Support structured root cause investigations related to performance, vibrations, motor failures, or field issues and implement corrective design improvements.
  • Contribute to the development of design automation tools and standardized engineering workflows, including application of C#, to improve scalability and engineering throughput.
