Mechanical Engineer II

Progressive Machine And DesignVictor, NY
34d$95,000 - $115,000

About The Position

JOB SUMMARY The Mechanical Engineer II is responsible for researching, planning, and designing stations and machines using calculations, mechanical principals, and proven practices to create semi/fully automated assembly and test systems. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Researches and analyzes data such as customer request for quote, customer specifications, and PMD's proposal to develop or determine feasibility of design or application. Work within design hour constraints, schedule constraints, and overall machine budget constraints. Work in a collaborative environment to make sure the designs developed are the most cost effective and will meet the customer's requirements. Develop/review concepts to confirm the design will meet required performance metrics including cycle time, yield, uptime, CPK and Gage R&R. Design mechanisms, stations, machines using 3D modeling software (SolidWorks). Works with vendors to obtain competitive quotes for major purchased components. Create detailed fabrication drawings for all custom designed parts. Create detailed assembly drawings identifying each individual component Create a complete Bill of Material for each design/station. Release completed designs to Project Management Occasionally acts as Project Engineer on smaller projects Supports fabrication, assembly, debug and machine qualification activities to ensure design conforms to customer requirements and specifications Observe safety procedures. OTHER DUTIES Maintain a clean and orderly work area. Any other task assigned by management within scope of position, federal and state regulations.
