About The Position

Argus Consulting is seeking an early career Mechanical Engineer to join our Overland Park, Kansas headquarters. This is an entry-level engineering role ideal for a recent graduate or early-career professional who is eager to build a strong technical foundation while contributing to meaningful, real-world projects. In this role, you’ll gain hands-on experience supporting mission-critical infrastructure projects across aviation, fuel systems, and industrial environments. You’ll work alongside experienced engineers and project leaders who are invested in your development, while completing structured training designed to accelerate your technical growth. This role is designed to provide exposure to both office-based design work and field experience, helping you develop a well-rounded understanding of how projects move from concept to construction.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience).
  • 0–2 years of relevant experience, including internships or co-op programs.
  • Basic proficiency with engineering software such as AutoCAD, AFT Fathom, or similar tools.
  • Solid understanding of fundamental mechanical engineering principles.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively, receive feedback constructively, and continuously improve.
  • Eligible for Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification or actively pursuing licensure.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the preparation of calculations, designs, drawings, and specifications for mechanical systems.
  • Perform fundamental engineering tasks such as drafting, modeling, and data entry under supervision.
  • Support the development of technical reports and project documentation.
  • Participate in project meetings and site visits to gain exposure to workflows and client interaction.
  • Learn and apply company standards, codes, and procedures for consistent project execution.
  • Communicate progress, questions, and technical challenges to senior engineers and project leads.
  • Complete assigned training modules to build foundational knowledge in mechanical system design and industry best practices.
