About The Position

Requirements

  • Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related Engineering degree.
  • Minimum of 2 years of professional experience in mechanical engineering. Experience working on product development projects is preferred.
  • Excellent hand dexterity and coordination is a must as the position requires reaching, bending, assembling and some standing.
  • Proficiency with 3D CAD software (SolidWorks).
  • Familiarity with engineering drawings and GD&T principles.
  • Basic understanding of mechanical analysis, materials, and manufacturing processes.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced work environment while maintaining a strong attention to detail.
  • Effective written and verbal communication
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team environment
  • Strong organizational and documentation skills
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities
  • Ability to be mechanically handy with tools and enjoys building and assembling devices and components.
  • Ability to maintain a clean & organized environment
  • Ability to lift up to 35 lbs.
  • Ability to learn other skills as the need arises.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with prototyping tools and lab equipment is a plus.
  • Basic knowledge of statistical analysis or data analysis tools is beneficial.
  • Experience with rapid prototyping techniques (3D printing, machining, etc.) preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the design and provide hands on development of mechanical components, assemblies, and systems for medical devices.
  • Create and maintain 3D CAD models, assemblies, and engineering drawings.
  • Participate in design reviews, risk analyses, and design verification activities.
  • Support prototype builds, lab testing, and engineering evaluations.
  • Develop test setups and assist in design verification and validation (V&V) testing.
  • Work with cross-functional teams including Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering, Quality, and Manufacturing.
  • Assist with root cause analysis and troubleshooting of mechanical or system-level issues.
  • Prepare and maintain design documentation in accordance with the company’s Design Control procedures.
  • Support design transfer activities to manufacturing.
  • Assist in the selection and evaluation of materials, components, and suppliers.
  • Participate in continuous improvement efforts to enhance product performance, reliability, and manufacturability.
  • May take on additional tasks/projects as the need arise.
