About The Position

NuVision Engineering is seeking a Mechanical Engineer I to support our Field Services and Engineering teams. This position is designed for new graduate engineers who want hands-on field experience combined with applied design and advanced engineering analysis early in their careers. Engineers in this role support a range of nuclear engineering services, including the Mechanical Stress Improvement Process (MSIP®) and related field executed technologies. You will gain exposure to nuclear plant execution, internally developed tooling systems, and ASME governed engineering analysis within a highly regulated technical environment. This role blends field deployment with office-based technical development and is well suited for engineers seeking broad, applied experience rather than a narrow, desk only position.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering, Nuclear Engineering, or related field.
  • Willingness and ability to travel.
  • Strong technical aptitude and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work effectively in structured, compliance driven environments.

Nice To Haves

  • Internship or co-op experience in engineering or related.
  • Exposure to CAD or FEA tools.
  • Interest in nuclear power generation or energy infrastructure.

Responsibilities

  • Field Support - Perform hands on engineering work in operating nuclear facilities supporting field executed services such as MSIP® and Pipe End Decontamination.
  • Support outage execution activities in coordination with senior engineers and technicians.
  • Complete U.S. and international radiation worker qualification and site access requirements.
  • Interface with plant personnel and support compliance with nuclear quality standards.
  • Engineering and Technical Development - Support internal tooling design, maintenance, and refinement activities.
  • Receive training and applied experience in ANSYS finite element analysis.
  • Develop solid modeling and CAD skills related to internally developed tooling systems.
  • Contribute to engineering work performed under ASME and NRC regulatory frameworks.
  • Assist with technical documentation, analysis reports, and project support activities.
  • Engineers divide time between field assignments and office based engineering work depending on project needs.
  • Travel and Work Environment - This position requires regular travel to domestic and international nuclear facilities. Engineers support projects across the United States and, when qualified, may have opportunities to support work in Europe and other international markets.
  • Field assignments provide exposure to operating nuclear plants, outage execution, and collaboration with utility customers in highly regulated technical environments.
  • Extended work schedules during outages are typical.
  • Straight time overtime is paid for hours worked beyond 40 per week.
  • A daily field incentive is provided during deployment.
  • All travel expenses are covered by the company.

Benefits

  • Straight time overtime during field assignments.
  • Deployment based field incentive.
  • Annual performance bonus.
  • 401k with company match.
  • Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision coverage.
