About The Position
Leading multi-disciplinary team is looking for a Mechanical Engineer Department Manager for their Grand Rapids team!
Requirements
- BS Degree in Mechanical Engineering preferred
- 8+ years of mechanical design experience in a consulting environment
- Experience designing Healthcare, Sports, Commercial, Public Sector, Industrial, Education, and/or Institutional projects
- Working knowledge of Revit
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
Nice To Haves
- PE License preferred
Responsibilities
- Work with Project Managers within the organization
- Create work plans/estimates for department staff assigned projects
- Ensure work meets QA/QC standards and client expectations
- Supervise projects/staff
- Meet performance metrics/goals
- Prepare proposals and administer project contracts
- Maintain backlogs/manpower forecasts for proper staffing and department utilization
- Perform annual reviews and timecards/expense report approvals for staff
- Assist Human Resources with recruiting and training
- Participate in various trade organizations
- Assist with business development
