Join our dynamic team and contribute to projects that have a meaningful impact across the globe. We have an immediate need for a Mechanical Designer, to join our Mechanical Engineering team. In this role, you will play a key part in designing and developing optomechanical systems. You will also have the opportunity to collaborate with skilled professionals, leverage advanced technologies, and contribute to the success of Raytheon ELCAN.

Requirements

  • A University Degree or equivalent experience and minimum 4 years of prior relevant experience, or an Advanced Degree in a related field.
  • Ability to use CAD software to design and develop products. Autodesk Inventor preferred.
  • Proficient user in Microsoft Office: Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook
  • Highly motivated with a demonstrated positive attitude
  • Willingness to learn and acquire knowledge/understanding through study, instruction or experience

Nice To Haves

  • Background in Physics, or experience in the field of optics
  • Knowledge of FEA concepts and how to apply them using FEA software. FEMAP and NX Nastran preferred.
  • Experience in completing independent research and development activities

Responsibilities

  • Generate drawings and technical data packages to be released for manufacturing
  • Design optomechanical systems using CAD (Autodesk Inventor)
  • Perform FEA to assess environmental impacts such as thermal, shock and vibration (FEMAP and NX Nastran)
  • Support legacy designs through change management system and maintaining drawing package
  • Ensure design is in compliance with industry standards and stakeholder requirements
  • Technical writing and presentations to support design reviews both internally and with external customers
  • Support Internal Research and Development initiatives
