Requirements

  • A 2-year technical school degree in Mechanical Design/Engineering is required; a Bachelor’s degree is preferred.
  • 3–5 years of mechanical design experience in heavy equipment or related industries.
  • Proficiency in CAD software such as AutoCAD and SolidWorks.
  • Strong knowledge of structural and mechanical design principles.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Valid proof of identity and authorization to work in the U.S. (Form I-9)
  • Eligibility to access information or technology governed by U.S. export control laws, including 10 C.F.R. Part 810. If government authorization is required for access to controlled technology, employment or start date may be delayed or withdrawn in accordance with applicable law
  • Certain positions and projects may require the ability to obtain and maintain unescorted access to nuclear facilities in compliance with NRC regulations (10 C.F.R. Parts 26 & 73)
  • On-site, 1st shift availability for full-time hours Monday-Friday 8:00AM-4:30PM

Responsibilities

  • Review new orders, comparing specifications to proposals, and resolve discrepancies with the sales team.
  • Conduct thorough checks for errors or omissions to ensure alignment with project requirements.
  • Select appropriate components from manufacturer catalogs and generate purchase requisitions.
  • Prepare arrangement and layout drawings, verifying completeness and correctness before customer approval.
  • Interface with customers to address design-related queries and obtain approvals.
  • Communicate with vendors to answer questions and resolve issues with purchased items.
  • Check detail drawings prepared by junior designers for accuracy and completeness.
  • Prepare detail drawings as needed to ensure project timelines are met.
  • Visit customer facilities to review projects, verify dimensions, and inspect equipment.
  • Collaborate with shop personnel to resolve manufacturing challenges.
