About The Position

The Mechanical Design Engineer is responsible for assisting with in-house engineering and design work. This may include creating and editing 3D models, CNC program files, and 2D technical drawings. The position reports to the Design and Engineering manager. In addition, the Mechanical Design Engineer may work on the shop floor to learn and assist lay-up, assembly, and outfit of components. The general expectations will include, but not be limited to the following: Uses computer assisted design/drafting equipment and software to develop designs. Planning and executing mechanical designs using CAD, CAM, and 3D CAD programs. Computes angles, weights, surface areas, dimensions, clearances, and tolerances. Analyzes engineering sketches, specifications and related data and drawings to determine design factors such as size, shape, and arrangement of parts. A key member of the design and engineering department, this position also provides support to the CNC team, production, and quality departments to ensure our customers' requirements are being met. Ensuring that products meet compliance regulations. Preparing technical reports, design specifications documents, and operational manuals. Keeping abreast of the latest advancements in technology, design trends, and engineering best practices

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • Minimum 3 years of experience.
  • Knowledge of production and manufacturing processes and techniques.
  • Skilled in Solidworks
  • Excellent computer skills.
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English.
  • Must be able to pass a background check
  • Must be a citizen of the United States

Nice To Haves

  • Master's degree in mechanical engineering or related field
  • Knowledge of composite raw materials.
  • Knowledge of machines and tools.
  • BOM development
  • Rhino 5 Experience
  • Experience in FEA

Responsibilities
