About The Position

The Mechanical Design Engineer provides converting equipment component and systems design services to facilitate the manufacture, assembly and commissioning of converting equipment. This role involves supporting project-based technology assignments, participating in value-based continuous improvement initiatives related to converting machinery technology, designs, and processes, and accurately applying engineering and manufacturing standards. The engineer will professionally present technology or project updates to key stakeholders, actively participate in project planning and review meetings to define action plans, resource plans, schedules, budgets, risk assessments and contingency plans. The position also requires providing hands-on problem-solving during commissioning at JOA and customer sites, and collaborating with others to proactively develop broad-based personal knowledge, skills, and abilities towards key JOA competencies.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, or a related discipline; or equivalent academic and practical experience.
• Strong analytic skills to troubleshoot equipment/processes and implement solutions
• Ability to effectively utilize complex software for design, problem solving, and documentation.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to collaborate among a team.
