Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering/relevant field AND 3 + years of relevant work experience OR master’s degree in mechanical engineering/relevant field AND 1 + years of relevant work experience
  • Proficiency with SolidWorks 3D CAD systems
  • Familiarity of designing for safety and DFX
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and desire to learn
  • Strong skills and experience in problem solving, time and priority management, communication, and project management
  • Good communication skills for interfacing with a multidiscipline technical team and present program updates, design reviews, test data, and NPI plans to upper management

Nice To Haves

  • Experience designing and implementing vacuum systems, gas and liquid chemical delivery, extreme temperature design, gas-phase reactions, chemical vapor deposition
  • Strong skills and experience in plasma-based systems RF & microwave
  • Working knowledge of FEA simulations

Responsibilities

  • Support the design, development, and improvement of Lyten designed manufacturing equipment to produce Lyten 3D Graphene at R&D and production scale
  • Design mechanical parts and sub-assemblies under the guidance of senior engineers from concept through production release
  • Create and maintain 3D CAD models, detailed part drawings, and assemblies using SolidWorks, applying basic GD&T per ANSI/ASME Y14.5 standards to drawings
  • Support the integration of mechanical components with electrical, thermal, and electromechanical systems
  • Support engineering changes and sustaining efforts for released equipment
  • Support hands-on assembly of prototypes and pre-production units and assist with basic functional and mechanical testing and document observations and results
  • Collaborate effectively with Electrical, Automation, Process, and Technician teams
  • Clearly communicate technical information in both written and verbal form
