About The Position

You will be the Mechanical Design Engineer for the Guided Multiple Launch Rocket System (GMLRS) team. Our team delivers high quality missile and launch pod designs, drives them into production, and supports the supply chain to meet demanding customer requirements. What You Will Be Doing As the Mechanical Design Engineer you will own production support activities, transition new designs to low rate initial production (LRIP), and lead MRBE (Manufacturing Review Board of Engineering) tasks for the ER GMLRS missile and launch pod. You’ll work side by side with the Camden manufacturing crew, suppliers, and cross functional experts to troubleshoot issues, perform root cause analyses, and release updated drawings. Your responsibilities will include: Provide day to day production support and resolve manufacturing issues for ER GMLRS hardware. Lead MRBE reviews, generate technical data packages, and obtain or maintain MRBE authority. Perform root cause investigations and drive corrective action implementation. Create, revise, and release engineering drawings and 3 D models in accordance with program standards. Collaborate with Stress Analysis, Materials & Processes, Test, Production, and senior Mechanical Engineers to ensure design integrity. Support technical suppliers, conduct supplier visits, and validate supplied parts. Travel to MFC facilities in Camden, AR, and multiple supplier sites across the U.S. (~25% of the time). Participate in design reviews, risk assessments, and continuous improvement initiatives. Requirements

  • Experience with Design Validation &/or Qualification Testing
  • Past strong technical performance as an individual contributor
  • Strong performance in a small team environment
  • Experience with production change processes (NOCs, NORs, ECPs, CRs, CNs, etc.)
  • Experience evaluating SDRLs (Supplier Document Requirements List)
  • Demonstrated success assisting/managing component supplier development and processing
  • Experience working in a Production environment
  • Demonstrated success assisting component supplier(s)
  • Geometric Dimension and Tolerance understanding
  • Missile, rocket, or launch pod program experience
  • Creo CAD software
  • Windchill PDM software
  • MUST BE A U.S. CITIZEN - This position is located at a facility that requires special access.
  • The selected candidate must be able to obtain a secret clearance.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience in a Material Review Board (MRB) role, particularly in a production setting.
  • Familiarity with the transition from development to production, including the resolution of design issues and optimization for mass production.
  • Experience in mechanical design (preferably production phase) in aerospace or a similar industry.
  • Prior experience with Lockheed Martin programs or similar defense contractors is a plus.
