We have an exciting opportunity for a Mechanical Engineer to join our Airborne & Ground Optics Department in McKinney, Texas. The responsibilities will include all aspects of the mechanical design process from concept to model/drawing completion for mechanical components required to support product builds working under the general supervision of a team lead. You will work closely with Chief Engineers, Lead Engineers and product engineers. If you are hands-on, adaptable in a fast-paced environment, proactive, take ownership of work, communicate well with others, and enjoy solving unique problems every day, then this opportunity could be for you.

Requirements

  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 2 years of prior relevant experience or an advanced degree in a related field.
  • Experience with 3D modeling software (CREO, SolidWorks, or equivalent).

Nice To Haves

  • Mechanisms or opto-mechanical design experience.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, including basic knowledge, and understanding of tolerancing.
  • Experience developing and delivering presentations (verbal and/or written).
  • Able to work and interface with a cross-discipline team.

Responsibilities

  • Utilization of RTX tools including CREO modeling software and Product Data Management (PDM).
  • Design and documentation support utilizing engineering tools, Adobe, and MS office suite.
  • Execution of engineering change and drawing release process.
  • Some assembly of your designs may be required.
  • Analytical and technical engineering work within a program environment with possible presentations on designs as needed.
  • Training in Raytheon processes and procedures.
  • Work may include participation in building hardware in a lab environment.
