HDR is seeking a Power Engineer in Training (i.e. Mechanical, Chemical, or Electrical EIT) to join our Michigan-based Power Generation team, which provides engineering consulting services. As an EIT, you will be joining a highly capable, multi-discipline team that supports power and energy projects primarily within the utility, independent power producer, industrial, institutional, and municipal sectors located across the U.S. and abroad. Engineering duties include providing support for engineering and construction projects at power generation, cogeneration, and district heating and cooling facilities for utility, industrial and institutional clients. Project types include combined and simple cycle power generation, reciprocating engine power generation, steam and chilled water distribution, water treatment, air quality control and plant betterment, renewables which includes solar, wind and battery storage. Within those facilities and projects, our work typically includes design and consulting for power generation and energy infrastructure including steam, condensate, cooling water, water treatment, natural gas, compressed air, fire protection, HVAC, air quality control, material handling, and other similar systems. The position may also include specialized training and assignments (e.g. performing piping stress analysis, heat balances, and ETAP using industry accepted software).
