We are currently seeking a full-time, exempt Graduate Mechanical Engineer. As an entry level position, you will learn to design small to mid-size HVAC and plumbing projects in a variety of industries, including commercial, industrial, retail, medical, critical care environments, municipal, schools, and more. Working closely with Professional Engineers, Engineers-in-Training, and other disciplines, you will first develop the technical skills for the design process. During this time, you will also develop professional skills learning the business and client side to eventually manage the full scope of a mechanical engineering project.

Requirements

  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering from an ABET-accredited program
  • Engineer in Training certification or the ability to receive within 6 months
  • Excellent interpersonal & communication skills - Connections are a critical part of how we work.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience designing HVAC, plumbing, or fire protection in Revit or AutoCAD.
  • Proficiency in Revit or AutoCAD and Microsoft Office. Other relevant programs could include HAP, Trace 700, or Bluebeam.

Responsibilities

  • Design heating, ventilating, and air conditioning installations and underground steam, gas, and compressed-air utilities.
  • Design constant volume and variable volume ductwork systems.
  • Supervise the installation of the above equipment and utilities.
  • Prepare cost estimates, specifications, and design analyses.
  • Learn to manage the mechanical engineering of small projects.
  • Balance workload and varying requirements of multiple projects.
  • Understand mechanical and plumbing system design and applications, can anticipate what systems are required for different projects.
  • Perform space planning, future planning, anticipate mechanical room sizes, and identify conflicts.
  • Coordinate and attend meetings with clients, consultants, owners, and internal staff members on projects.
