Basic Function: Under direct supervision, perform basic mechanical assembly operations on production units. Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimal - entry level; 0-12 months job experience.
  • Demonstrated mechanical aptitude; ability to operate hand tools; ability to follow instructions; quick learner.
  • Basic layout skills.
  • Must be capable of lifting minimum of 50 pounds.
  • Must be capable of full range of body movement: head, neck, shoulders, lift arms overhead, work overhead, good dexterity and range of movement in fingers and hands.
  • Must be able to remain continuously standing or seated without discomfort for a minimum of three hours, if necessary.
  • Must have good balance and lack fear of heights while working on ladders and elevated platforms.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble mainframe of production unit; ensure trueness of mainframe assembly.
  • Assist higher-level assemblers in assembling subassemblies.
  • Perform material handling duties for mechanical assembly including packing rollers and pulling belts.
  • Maintain neat, clean and organized work area.
  • Perform other assigned duties.
