About The Position

The Diesel Mechanic is responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining semi-trucks and heavy-duty equipment to ensure safe and efficient operation. This role supports fleet reliability through preventive maintenance and timely repairs while upholding safety, quality, and compliance standards. The position requires strong technical skills, attention to detail, and a hands-on approach to minimize downtime and maintain overall equipment performance.

Requirements

Current certification as a diesel mechanic
Proven experience diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining diesel engines and heavy-duty trucks
Strong knowledge of engine systems, transmissions, drivetrains, hydraulics, brakes, and electrical systems
Proficient in using diagnostic software, electronic tools, and standard shop equipment
Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
Strong commitment to safety, quality, and regulatory compliance
Valid driver’s license; CDL preferred or ability to obtain

Responsibilities

Diagnose and repair diesel engines, transmissions, and drivetrain components on semi-trucks
Perform routine preventive maintenance, including oil changes, filter replacements, and fluid checks
Inspect and repair brake, suspension, and steering systems to ensure safe operation
Troubleshoot and repair electrical and electronic systems, including wiring and onboard diagnostics
Conduct DOT inspections and ensure all equipment meets safety and regulatory requirements
Repair or replace major components such as engines, clutches, turbochargers, and fuel systems
Maintain accurate records of maintenance, repairs, and parts usage
Follow all company safety policies and procedures while performing work
Keep work areas clean, organized, and free of hazards, debris, and waste
Communicate effectively with supervisors regarding equipment status and repair needs
