About The Position

Environmental Air Systems, a full-service mechanical contractor, is seeking skilled Mechanics to join our manufacturing shop in High Point, North Carolina. This position is available on first shift. EAS is the leading HVAC Volumetric Modular Manufacturer and the # 1 Mechanical Contractor in the Southeastern United States. Skilled in producing on-site and off-site systems, as well as modular facilities, we serve many mission-critical sectors. Envirotrol is the expert in DDC and PLC Building Automation and HVAC/R mechanical services in the Carolinas providing solutions to control, optimize, and maintain some of the largest international corporations and facilities in the region. Combined we are vertically integrated and serve markets such as Healthcare, Pharmaceuticals, Biotechnology, Industrial Manufacturing, Power Generation, and Mission Critical Data Centers.

Requirements

  • Reading and speaking proficiency in either English or Spanish required.
  • Minimum of a high school education or equivalent.
  • Previous experience in a construction/fabrication environment.
  • Strong knowledge of air conditioning systems and components.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
  • Ability to use hand and power tools and to read a tape measure.
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
  • Ability to speak and read either English or Spanish
  • Ability to work independently and on a team
  • Strong verbal communication skills
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
  • Ability to stand and work for prolonged periods of time
  • Ability to work in conditions of varying heat and cold where noise levels are at or above 90 decibels

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience as an HVAC technician or air conditioning mechanic preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Efficiently construct and fabricate industrial HVAC units. This involves assembling, positioning, and connecting components such as compressors, condensers, evaporators, ductwork, and thermostats according to specifications and blueprints.
  • Diagnose and repair malfunctions in air conditioning systems promptly and effectively. This involves troubleshooting electrical components, identifying refrigerant leaks, repairing or replacing faulty parts such as motors or compressors, and recalibrating controls to restore functionality.
  • Perform regular maintenance tasks to ensure the optimal performance and longevity of air conditioning systems. This includes cleaning coils, checking refrigerant levels, inspecting and replacing filters, lubricating moving parts, and testing system controls.
