About The Position

Our Trailer Mechanic position could be just the spot to start your career with XTRA Lease. If you have at least one year of experience working on trailers and brakes, possess a valid and current driver's license, and own your own tools, this job could be a good fit for you.

As a Trailer Mechanic, you’ll need one year of trailer repair experience to complete FHWA inspections consistent with the Department of Transportation requirements. The people who succeed as Trailer Mechanics have knowledge of air, electronic, braking, and suspension systems as well as general knowledge of mechanical operation and body repair. Our employees enjoy consistent Monday - Friday schedules with little to no nights or weekends.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED (Preferred)
• Minimum of 1 year of experience working specifically on trailers
• Minimum of 1 year of experience working on brakes
• Must be qualified to complete FHWA inspections
• Must have a valid and current driver's license

Responsibilities

• Diagnosing, servicing, and repairing all XTRA Lease equipment as indicated on repair orders and consistent with XTRA Lease repair standards.
• Performing safety and legally required inspections (FHWA/BIT).
• Maintaining parts and yard organization (with direction from operations management) to ensure a clean and safe working environment.
• Working out of the XTRA Lease service truck to service customer rentals at nearby locations
