About The Position

The Full-Time Mechanic is responsible for maintaining, diagnosing, and repairing company fleet vehicles and small engine equipment to ensure reliable operation and safety. This position plays a key role in minimizing vehicle downtime and keeping the company’s tools, trucks, and machinery in top working condition.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent (technical school or ASE certification preferred).
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in automotive or equipment repair.
  • Strong knowledge of gas and diesel engine systems, hydraulics, and electrical troubleshooting.
  • Experience with small engines (Honda, Briggs & Stratton, etc.) required.
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks.
  • Must own basic hand tools; specialty tools provided by company.
  • Ability to lift up to 75 lbs. and perform physical labor as needed.
  • Work in various weather conditions if necessary (indoor/outdoor).
  • Extended periods of standing, bending, and working under vehicles or equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on company fleet vehicles (gas and diesel), including oil changes, brakes, tires, other preventative maintenance, and vehicle diagnostics.
  • Service and repair small engines such as generators, compressors, rods, pumps, and other field equipment.
  • Conduct regular inspections and preventative maintenance schedules to ensure compliance with safety and operational standards.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records for each vehicle and piece of equipment.
  • Diagnose mechanical issues efficiently using diagnostic tools and manuals.
  • Order, secure, and manage parts inventory, ensuring cost-effective purchasing and tracking.
  • Coordinate with supervisors to prioritize vehicle and equipment repairs.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workspace at all times.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA safety standards and company policies.
  • Assist in vehicle upfitting, tool installations, and minor fabrication when necessary.
