The Full-Time Mechanic is responsible for maintaining, diagnosing, and repairing company fleet vehicles and small engine equipment to ensure reliable operation and safety. This position plays a key role in minimizing vehicle downtime and keeping the company’s tools, trucks, and machinery in top working condition.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent (technical school or ASE certification preferred).
Minimum 3 years of experience in automotive or equipment repair.
Strong knowledge of gas and diesel engine systems, hydraulics, and electrical troubleshooting.
Experience with small engines (Honda, Briggs & Stratton, etc.) required.
Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks.
Must own basic hand tools; specialty tools provided by company.
Ability to lift up to 75 lbs. and perform physical labor as needed.
Work in various weather conditions if necessary (indoor/outdoor).
Extended periods of standing, bending, and working under vehicles or equipment.

Responsibilities

Perform routine maintenance and repairs on company fleet vehicles (gas and diesel), including oil changes, brakes, tires, other preventative maintenance, and vehicle diagnostics.
Service and repair small engines such as generators, compressors, rods, pumps, and other field equipment.
Conduct regular inspections and preventative maintenance schedules to ensure compliance with safety and operational standards.
Maintain accurate maintenance records for each vehicle and piece of equipment.
Diagnose mechanical issues efficiently using diagnostic tools and manuals.
Order, secure, and manage parts inventory, ensuring cost-effective purchasing and tracking.
Coordinate with supervisors to prioritize vehicle and equipment repairs.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workspace at all times.
Ensure compliance with OSHA safety standards and company policies.
Assist in vehicle upfitting, tool installations, and minor fabrication when necessary.
