About The Position

Clearwater Construction is currently accepting resumes for a Mechanic. The primary purpose of this position is to perform mechanical repairs with minimal supervision to ensure proper performance and safety of company vehicles and construction equipment.

Requirements

Knowledge of diesel and gas engine maintenance and repair
Ability to diagnose mechanical problems and perform repairs independently
Ability to operate equipment and tools involved in vehicle and construction equipment repair
Ability to lift heavy equipment and vehicle parts
High School Diploma or equivalent.
At least five (5) years of experience in a shop environment.
Must have a technical understanding with attention to detail
Demonstrate dependability, thoroughness, and excellent verbal communication skills
Must have valid Driver’s License

Nice To Haves

Class A CDL is a plus, but not required.

Responsibilities

Evaluate mechanical problems in vehicles using diagnostic equipment.
Help mechanics evaluate mechanical problems and inspect repairs completed.
Rebuild, replace, or repair major vehicle and equipment components, assemblies, and systems including engines, transmissions, suspensions, etc.
Estimate time and materials required to perform repairs.
Analyze engine performance and perform tune-ups as needed.
Perform routine vehicle maintenance and preventive care.
Maintain accurate, updated preventive maintenance records.
Operate tools, equipment, and machinery according to prescribed safety procedures.
Follow established safety procedures and techniques to perform job duties.
Ensure shop, equipment, and tools are in safe operating condition.
Correct unsafe conditions in work area and report any conditions that are not correctable to supervisor immediately.
