About The Position

TAK Broadband is a leading end-to-end U.S. fiber broadband network construction contractor operating in 42 states, connecting communities to new valuable digital opportunities. The company offers comprehensive service solutions, from construction to drops to fulfillment, supported by an ecosystem of partners including engineering teams, distributors, and over 100 qualified construction crews, 300 experienced bury drop crews, and 700 professional technicians. TAK Broadband is seeking a Mechanic to join their team in Fond du Lac, WI. In this role, the Mechanic will assist with maintenance and repairs to equipment and vehicles, asset tracking, replacing worn and defective parts, re-assembling mechanical components, and changing oil, spark plugs, batteries, and filters.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of mechanic work experience
  • Strong ability to work cohesively with others
  • Excellent knowledge of vehicle and equipment repair
  • Excellent mechanical skills
  • Ability to follow instructions and lead other mechanics
  • Ability to use power and hand tools
  • Ability to read service and repair manuals
  • Willingness to work in a wide variety of conditions including indoors, outdoors, small spaces, assorted weather conditions, etc.
  • Willingness to travel as needed within 2-3 hour range
  • Must provide a valid government-issued photo ID for verification; a driver’s license is required if the role involves driving
  • Passing of all pre-employment requirements (MVR, Background Check, Drug Screen)

Nice To Haves

  • Class A CDL a plus

Responsibilities

  • Maintain, repair and track vehicles and equipment
  • Assist with maintenance and repairs to equipment and vehicles, replacing worn and defective parts, re-assembling mechanical components, changing oil, spark plugs, batteries, filters, etc.
  • Assist with tracking and assigning equipment and vehicles to field personnel
  • Coordinate assistance to field personnel for delivering, replacing and repairing defective equipment
  • Repair and paint trailers and equipment as needed
  • Assist with picking up and delivering material to several office locations throughout Wisconsin
  • Maintain a clean and organized shop
  • Keep common needed supplies stocked
  • Occasional local travel within 2-3 hour range
  • Perform all other duties as requested
