About The Position

As an Equipment Mechanic at Cabot, you will perform work involving the care of large and small equipment, including riding and push mowers, utility and passenger vehicles, as well as other maintenance equipment. The primary responsibility will be to ensure all mowing units are inspected, adjusted, and sharpened properly using grinding equipment. You will report to the Equipment Manager while leading, supervising, and implementing a preventative maintenance program for the fleet and the Turf Facilities.

Requirements

  • 2 Years’ experience as a Golf Course Equipment Technician.
  • Mechanical Aptitude and demonstrates the ability to safely and efficiently operate the majority of the resort maintenance equipment.
  • Knowledge of Workplace Hazardous Information System (WHIMIS).
  • Demonstrate quality written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Able to follow oral and written directions in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Able to analyze and solve problems; efficiently handle multiple duties under pressure with minimal supervision; work flexible hours as required including early mornings, nights/weekends, and holidays.
  • The ability to obtain First Aid Training within the first 90 days of employment.
  • Positive, can-do attitude, and professional manner and appearance in all situations.
  • The willingness to adapt to new methods and standards.
  • Previous mechanical experience or transferable skillset.
  • Experience with the operations of grinding units.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure a safe, clean, and productive work environment.
  • Communicate all relevant equipment concerns with the Eqipment Manager.
  • Perform daily mowing unit inspection and operate reel and rotary sharping equipment.
  • Perform routine maintenance services and programs as outlined by the Equipment Manager.
  • Maintain accurate records and document the equipment repairs, parts, and inventories used.
  • Ensure all equipment daily check-in records are completed accurately.
  • Implementing and timely execution of the equipment and snow removal fleet preventative program through work order process and reports.
  • Operate all department equipment responsibly and safely at all times.
  • Inspects diesel, gasoline, electric, oil, and other equipment fluid levels daily; report any equipment problems or failures to the Equipment Manager.
  • Ensure all equipment and buildings are cleaned and inspected daily as per company standards.
  • Maintain a pleasant and professional manner at all times when addressing associates, contractors, sales personnel, and/or any guests that may enter the premises.
  • Fabricates and plans repair of course accessories, pull carts, mowers, golf carts, tools, and equipment.
  • Identifies unsafe areas and activities, and reports hazards immediately.
  • Learn golf terminology and the importance of each playable area such as green, tees fairway, and bunker.
  • Perform additional duties as required.
