General Description The Mechanic is responsible for performing routine maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on company vehicles, machinery, and equipment. This role ensures all mechanical systems are operating safely and efficiently while maintaining accurate service records and adhering to company safety protocols.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • 3–5 years of experience as a Mechanic or in a related role.
  • Ability to understand work directions and communicate effectively.
  • Strong knowledge of automotive, machinery, and small equipment repair.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and diagnostic tools.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently.
  • Frequent standing, bending, stooping, and crouching for at least 8 hours per shift.
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs frequently and up to 150 lbs with assistance.
  • Walk on uneven terrain in varying weather conditions.
  • Maintain constant awareness of job site activities and moving equipment.
  • Safely climb on and off vehicles and machinery as needed.
  • Shop and field environments in all weather conditions.
  • Exposure to high noise levels, grease, dust, and machinery.
  • Regular work near moving vehicles and construction materials.
  • Handling of substances such as oil, grease, gasoline, diesel fuel, and lubricants.

Nice To Haves

  • CDL preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Perform preventative maintenance, inspections, and repairs on company vehicles and equipment.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic system issues.
  • Replace or repair worn parts, components, and fluids as needed.
  • Maintain accurate service logs and records for all repairs and maintenance.
  • Assist in developing preventative maintenance schedules to reduce downtime.
  • Work in both shop and field environments to perform on-site repairs as needed.
  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace, ensuring proper storage of tools and parts.
  • Ensure all equipment, tools, and materials are properly maintained and accounted for.
  • Follow all safety procedures, OSHA regulations, and company policies.
  • Maintain a valid driver’s license and insurability for operating company vehicles.
  • Demonstrate a safety-first approach in all tasks and job site activities.
  • Communicate professionally with supervisors, teammates, contractors, clients, and vendors.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support company operations.
  • Work day or night shifts, including weekends, as required.
