About The Position

The Mechanic position is responsible for the inspection, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of diesel-powered heavy equipment, trailers, hydraulic systems, and oilfield service units. This role includes both shop and field work, operating a service truck to perform mobile repairs, and providing diagnostic support to maintain operational readiness of the fleet. This position is best suited for individuals with 1–5 years of mechanical experience, preferably in diesel, hydraulic, or heavy equipment environments. Candidates with experience in hydraulics, diesel engines, DOT equipment compliance, and oilfield service equipment are strongly preferred. The position may require participation in on-call rotations, including operating a company service truck.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED (or equivalent work experience)
  • 1–5+ years of verifiable mechanical or diesel technician experience preferred
  • Experience with diesel engines, hydraulics, and heavy equipment maintenance strongly preferred
  • Must maintain a valid driver's license with a clean motor vehicle record and meet company driving requirements
  • Must successfully pass a pre-employment background check, physical, and produce a negative drug screen
  • Strong mechanical aptitude with attention to detail and troubleshooting ability
  • Ability to work flexible hours including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment physical.
  • Stand, walk, and perform mechanical work for extended periods of time.
  • Lift tools, components, and parts up to 50 lbs regularly.
  • Perform repetitive mechanical tasks for extended periods.
  • Work in shop and field environments in varying weather conditions.
  • Work scheduled rotational assignments including days, evenings, holidays, and weekends.

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair diesel engines including Cat, Detroit, Allison, and Cummins platforms.
  • Perform preventative maintenance and repairs on heavy trucks, trailers, hydraulic systems, and oilfield service equipment.
  • Maintain and service DEF/DPF/Tier 4 emission systems and related components.
  • Inspect equipment for faults and mechanical issues using diagnostic testing and troubleshooting methods.
  • Use diagnostic software including SIS, INSIGHT, and Allison systems when applicable.
  • Perform routine maintenance including cleaning, lubricating, and preventative service of equipment.
  • Operate company equipment and service trucks to perform field repairs and mobile service calls.
  • Maintain critical parts inventory and ensure service rigs and fleet equipment remain operational.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records and documentation.
  • Operate forklifts, telehandlers, and other shop equipment as required.
  • Assist in mentoring Mechanic 1 or trainee-level personnel when applicable.
  • Follow all company safety policies and procedures while maintaining a clean and organized work area.
  • Other duties as assigned by management.
