Overview We are seeking an experienced and reliable Mechanic to inspect, diagnose, repair, and maintain vehicles and construction equipment. This role is essential to keeping our fleet safe, reliable, and operating at peak performance. The ideal candidate has strong mechanical skills, a problem-solving mindset, and a commitment to safety and quality workmanship. Responsibilities Perform routine maintenance and inspections on company vehicles and equipment (e.g., trucks, skid steers, pavers, rollers) Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues and recommend corrective actions Complete repairs including engine work, brake systems, electrical wiring, hydraulic components, and preventive maintenance Maintain accurate service records, inspection reports, and parts inventory logs Order parts, supplies, and materials needed for repairs Operate diagnostic tools and equipment safely and effectively Ensure shop area and tools are clean, organized, and maintained Assist with emergency repairs in the field as needed Comply with all company safety policies and OSHA regulations Communicate clearly with supervisors and operators about equipment status and repairs Perform additional duties as assigned Qualifications 2+ years of experience as a mechanic or technician, preferably in construction or heavy equipment Must be at least 18 years of age Strong knowledge of diesel and gas engines, hydraulic systems, and electrical components Ability to read and interpret service manuals, schematics, and diagnostic codes Skilled in using diagnostic tools and hand/power tools Valid driver’s license required; CDL is a plus ASE certifications or vocational training preferred but not required Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail Ability to work independently and as part of a team Ability to work long hours, including weekends and evenings, as needed Working Conditions Shop and outdoor environments with exposure to noise, grease, dust, and varying temperatures Requires standing, bending, and lifting up to 75 lbs regularly May involve field service calls or emergency repairs after hours To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
