About The Position

Spee Dee Delivery is a family owned and operated company that was started in 1978 by Donald and Sylvia Weeres. Our core business is in standard, next-day, ground delivery. The corporate headquarters and main sort facility is located in St. Cloud, MN. We currently employ over 1,800 employees company wide and over the years we have expanded throughout the Midwest. Job Summary The Mechanic/Vehicle Technician Lead will motivate and lead a team of mechanics in their day-to-day responsibilities.

Requirements

• At least 21 years of age
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• 3+ years of technical instruction in diesel or auto mechanics is preferred
• Ability to lift up to 75 pounds
• Ability to pass a DOT physical exam
• Must be able to spend a minimum of eight hours on feet
• Work environment involves ability to bend, kneel, crouch, walk, and drive
• Ability to build, motivate, and lead a high performing team
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Ability to operate a manual transmission vehicle or be willing to learn
• Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screening and a criminal background check.

Nice To Haves

• Welding and torch experience is a plus but not required

Responsibilities

• Ability to lead a team of mechanics
• Coordinate replacements for routes that have vehicles under repair
• Ability to use scan tool and laptop technology
• Perform routine truck inspections and maintenance of fleet equipment
• Help maintain an effective and clean work environment
• Must have own tools or ability to obtain own tools to complete all job functions
• Welding and torch experience is a plus but not required
• Perform other duties as assigned
