Mechanic Trainee (2nd Shift)
About The Position
Heidelberg Materials is one of the world's largest suppliers of building materials. Heidelberg Materials North America operates over 450 locations across the U.S. and Canada with approximately 9,000 employees. Assist with troubleshooting, inspecting, and maintaining mechanical equipment to support safe and reliable operations. Perform basic repairs and component replacements under the guidance of experienced mechanics. Support routine preventive maintenance tasks to minimize equipment downtime. Learn to safely use tools, equipment, and diagnostic instruments required for mechanical work. Participate in shift handoffs, safety checks, and housekeeping to maintain a clean and safe work area.
Requirements
- Interest in developing mechanical knowledge and hands-on repair skills.
- Ability to follow direction, learn new processes, and apply mechanical concepts.
- Commitment to working safely around heavy equipment and industrial environments.
- Strong problem-solving approach and willingness to contribute to team goals.
- Reliability in meeting shift expectations, including 2nd shift schedule requirements.
- Successful candidate must submit to post-offer pre-employment physical examination, drug/alcohol screen, and background check.
- Some positions require FMCSA regulated ongoing drug and alcohol testing.
