Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • General Studies or equivalent years of experience in lieu of education requirement, if applicable
  • 2 Years Experience in small engine repair, can include apprenticeships or on the job training

Nice To Haves

  • Certification, Diploma, or associate degree in small engine repair, electronic equipment technology or electrical engineering technology
  • Certification, Diploma, or associate degree in any engine repair, electronic equipment technology or electrical engineering technology.
  • 1 year experience in understanding the maintenance needs of equipment including two-cycle engines, four-cycle engines, diesel, electric, and cordless equipment.
  • 1 year of experience in parts identification and sales, including matching components to specific engine models, explaining repair options, and recommending compatible replacement parts and maintenance products.
  • 1 year of experience in equipment service operations, including performing inspections, preventive maintenance, and safety checks, as well as documenting work orders and repairs accurately.
  • 1 year of experience in a customer-facing service environment, providing technical advice, demonstrating proper equipment use, and ensuring customer satisfaction through quality workmanship and clear communication.
  • 1 year of experience providing customer service, including identifying and resolving customer issues, assisting customers in locating product, greeting customers, answering phones, building relationships with customers, and thanking customers for their business.

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose, service, and repair a variety of rental equipment including, but not limited to: pressure washers, trenchers, generators, aerators, compaction equipment, trailers, and small engines.
  • Perform scheduled preventive maintenance on all rental assets to manufacturer and company standards.
  • Inspect returned equipment for damage, wear, and proper operation; complete repair orders and documentation accurately.
  • Maintain organized service records, parts usage, and maintenance logs in the company’s tracking system.
  • Coordinate with store management and field support teams to ensure timely turnaround of equipment.
  • Assist with fleet condition assessments, warranty repairs, and vendor service coordination as needed.
  • Adhere to all safety policies and environmental standards while maintaining a clean and professional workspace.
  • Support training and mentorship of new associates on proper equipment handling and safety procedures.
  • Provide feedback to leadership regarding recurring issues, parts needs, or design improvements.
  • Customer Service- Provides SMART customer service at all times through the daily execution of Lowe's customer service policies, procedures and programs
  • In addition to the above responsibilities, this individual is held accountable for other duties as assigned
