About The Position

A Mechanic Helper assists mechanics with routine maintenance, repairs, and shop tasks. This role supports the team by preparing tools, moving vehicles or parts, keeping the work area clean, and helping with basic mechanical work under supervision.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED
• Basic knowledge of tools and mechanical systems
• Ability to follow instructions and learn quickly
• Good teamwork and communication
• Physical ability to lift heavy objects (40-75 lbs)
• Dependable and punctual

Nice To Haves

• Previous shop experience
• Auto tech training or vocational coursework
• Driver's license

Responsibilities

• Assist mechanics with repairs and maintenance on vehicles/equipment
• Hand tools and parts to mechanics during jobs
• Perform basic tasks such as oil changes, tire checks, fluid top-offs, and battery replacement (as trained)
• Clean and organize tools, equipment, and work areas
• Help lift, move, and transport parts and materials
• Inspect parts for damage or wear and report issues
• Keep records of work performed when needed
• Follow safety procedures and wear required protective equipment
• Dispose of waste (oil, filters, etc.) according to shop/environment rules
