Mechanic Industrial I/II/III - Water Reclamation
About The Position
Performs mechanical work in the installation, maintenance, and repair of lift station and waste treatment equipment and machinery. Determines nature of malfunctions and suggests how to repair it, or if equipment should be returned to the shop for a major overhaul. Decides when the shafts need lubricating, additional oil for the engine is needed, plugs, points, etc. Work is performed under supervision of Mechanic Supervisor or Manager and is reviewed while in progress and upon completion for accuracy and completeness.
Requirements
- High School Diploma/G.E.D. Certificate
- Valid Florida Driver's License or Florida Commercial Driver's License A, B, or C prior to employment, depending on equipment assigned to position.
- Must own a standard set of mechanic tools
- Must have a home phone or cell phone.
- Some positions must pass an annual respirator physical; no facial hair allowed between the face and sealing surface of the respirator face piece.
- Mechanic I: one (1) year of industrial mechanical experience; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- Mechanic II: three (3) years of industrial mechanical experience; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- Mechanic III: four (4) years of industrial mechanical experience; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- Valid Florida Wastewater Collection Level III Certification may be required, depending on the area of assignment (Mechanic III).
