Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 yrs. old or 21 yrs. old if operating OHFL trucks outside company terminals.
  • Possess desire to acquire the skills needed to become a mechanic.
  • Self-motivation and organizational skills preferred.
  • Reading, Mathematics, and simple arithmetic, writing, weighing, and/or measuring.
  • Basic knowledge on how to use hand tools.
  • Ability to work effectively and efficiently both independently and in a team environment.
  • Ability and flexibility to work varied shifts, including weekends.
  • Trade school experience and training preferred, but not required.
  • H.S. diploma or GED/equivalent preferred.
  • Basic English language proficiency (reading, writing and verbal) is required.

Responsibilities

  • Will be trained in basic Class 7 and 8 diesel truck and trailer repairs.
  • Will be trained to complete preventative maintenance inspections.
  • Complete PM’s and repairs to OHFL quality standards.
  • Will be trained to perform wider variety of overall mechanical tasks with minimal or no supervision.
  • Will be trained to perform preventative maintenance repairs, including heavy equipment.
  • Perform work and maintain work area in accordance with OHFL and DOT standards for safety.
  • Assumes and performs other duties and responsibilities not specifically outlined herein as requested.
