Responsibilities

  • Provide high-quality customer service aligned with company standards.
  • Oversee daily operations and staffing of the Meat Department.
  • Schedule, supervise, train, and assign duties to meat cutters and clerks.
  • Maintain accurate inventory, perform monthly counts, and write meat orders.
  • Ensure product quality by inspecting deliveries and culling expired items.
  • Operate meat processing equipment (grinder, tenderizer, saw, knives) safely.
  • Implement merchandising programs and ensure pricing integrity.
  • Take and fulfill special customer orders and provide custom cuts.
  • Enforce food safety and sanitation policies, including temperature and tare checks.
  • Review reports to identify successes and opportunities for improvement.
